Marshall Ulrich is a legendary endurance athlete. At age 57 he ran across the United States -3,063 miles in 52 days (a masters record for trans america crossing). He is author of the book, Running on Empty – an ultramarathoner’s story of love, loss, and a record-setting run across America. We talked to Marshal in 2012 in episode #69.

Jeff Brown is the lead psychologist for the Boston Marathon and assistant clinical professor in the department of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He’s author of the book The Runner’s Brain. We had Dr. Jeff on the podcast in 2015 episode #153 and #154.

In July of 2014 year Lisa Smith-Batchen became the first woman to complete a Badwater Quad. That’s four back to back Badwater Ultra Marathons, 584 miles through Death Valley where temperatures reached as high as 127 degrees. Lisa is an accomplished ultra-marathoner and director of the Jackson Hole Marathon in Whyoming. We talked with her on episode #115 in 2014.

Dr. Tim Noakes is a professor of exercise and sports science at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. He has published more than 750 scientific books and articles and has been cited more than 16 000 times in scientific literature. Many consider his 900 page book The Lore of Running to be the closest thing to a running bible. The first time we had Dr. Noakes on the podcast was in 2014, episode #98.

Sean is a Hollywood actor, director, family man, marathoner and creator of the #Run3rd. In 2015 he completed the Hawaii Ironman Triathlon which requires a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile cycle, and 26.2 mile run in under 17 hours.
