When will the race take place?
- Between now and December 31st. You can run it anytime before the end of 2020. We use the honor system. You can join our virtual race Facebook group where thousands of runners around the world encourage each other.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can we order as a group?
- Yes, this will save on shipping. One person will need to place the order for the whole group. Just select the quantity you want at checkout and the medals will be sent to the same address. Then forward the emails you get from us to the other runners so they will have all the appropriate links and instructions. No need to officially “register” each person separately at check out.
Do you ship outside the USA?
- Yes! We ship anywhere in the world. The cost of shipping outside the USA is unfortunately not as cheap (we don’t make any money from the shipping). Many runners are joining with their running partners to share the cost of shipping. It costs about the same amount to send 1 medal as it does 2-4 medals in the same package. Just select the quantity you want at checkout and the medals will be sent to the same address. Then forward the emails you get from us to the other runners so they will have all the appropriate links and instructions. No need to officially “register” each person separately at check out. Please be aware that due to Covid the international shipping is extremely slow right now!
How do I complete the half marathon?
- We are trying to keep it simple. Run or walk 13.1 miles or 21.1 kilometers between now and the end of 2020. You can run on roads, trails, treadmill, etc. The medal will be shipped out in December even if you don’t report your miles. We use the honor system.
Can I Double Dip?
You can run your half marathon as part of another virtual or in person race. We call it “double dipping”. Many runners do it. For example, if you are doing The Corona Lisa 100 Mile Challenge you can count your miles toward both.
Can I run a little each day?
For the virtual half we are asking that you challenge yourself to complete the full 13.1 miles (21.1) kilometers all in the same day. You can run, walk, or even hike it and take as many hours as you need.
How do I report my runs?
- You can post a screenshot or photo of your run. *Note: reporting your run is not mandatory since we use the honor system. If you pay for a medal you will get it regardless of whether you report or not.
Cancellation/Refunds
- Unfortunately we cannot offer a refund for this event. Since we immediately spend the money on purchasing the medal and shipping, all sales are final.
When will my medal arrive?
- The medal(s) will be shipped out from a USA based facility in December. It could take longer to reach you depending on where you live. Please be aware that if you live outside the USA it could take an extra couple months to reach you. We’ve found that due to Covid the international shipping is extremely slow right now.
Is there a special Facebook group for this event?
- The MTA Virtual Half will use the “Social Distancing” Run Facebook group which has over 10,000 members and a very active community. It’s a great place to share photos, results, and see what other runners are up to.

Angie and Trevor Spencer, the hosts of Marathon Training Academy, are cute as all get-out. They’re that adorable couple you picture spending their Sundays walking the dog and baking muffins. And maybe they do that, but only after logging in their long run to train for another upcoming marathon. And they aren’t just fanatics. Angie Spencer is a registered nurse and certified running coach with serious marathon know-how. The hosts tackle all manner of listener questions from marathon fueling to injury prevention to compression clothing. But the best takeaway from this podcast is the mondo dose of can-do attitude; it’s a feeling that lingers long after the theme music stops singing that you’re ‘well on your way.
