Hi! I have been listening to you guys for a couple of years now and I completed my first marathon in Dec. 2023 listening to the podcast!! I heard about the Las Vegas Marathon through you guys and I am signed up and ready to go! I am quite a bit into my training and I’m wondering if the elevation change is significant enough that I need to tailor some of my training to it. If you have any quick tips to incorporate to help my second marathon go smoothly that would be very appreciated!

“I’ve been a member of the MTA community since 2020, having been introduced to the podcast by way of the Social Distancing Run 100 Mile Challenge. I have been inspired by the many success stories of everyday runners achieving their fitness goals, breaking personal records, and just becoming a better version of themselves.

“I would have never believed it”

Big congrats to our client Maria on conquering her first marathon at the Clearwater Running Festival in Florida! She writes,

“If you told me 1 year ago that I would train AND run a Marathon I would have never believed it.

My journey began in January 2022 when I ran a 5k race for a work function. I was immediately hooked and I set the goal for a half marathon in November 2023. The day after my half marathon I decided to sign up for Clearwater’s Running Festival Marathon.

MTA Coach Carri assured me that I was not crazy for wanting to train for my first marathon in 10 weeks, and I got to work. 

Suddenly, running had changed my priorities and disciplined me in ways I would have never imagined. My usual Friday night Margaritas changed to Friday night carb loading, and being in bed by 9pm to prepare for my Saturday long runs.

Success Story with Jamie Tizzard: How Running Can Change Your Life

In this podcast episode we speak with Jamie Tizzard -a mother of two from southern California who has been completing our virtual run challenges. 

In 2020 she found herself scrolling through Facebook and responded to an ad for the 100 Mile Challenge.

It was the push she needed to get off the couch, become a runner, drop 75 pounds, and start running in-person races.

Jamie now runs 6 miles 5 times per week and has improved her running pace from a 15 minute mile to a 9:30 minute mile. She finished the Orange County Half Marathon in 2:05:07!
